Making Marple Better Together
Marple regulars will know that each month Market Street has a market in it again! “Make it Marple” may not be farmers bringing their livestock and produce from their fields but it does involve a lot of local crafts people and food innovators being in the town centre, bringing it alive and generally cheering the whole place up. You can come and meet some of us from the Civic Society there too as we have a stand to act as a meeting place for interesting conversation about the town. We love seeing lots of people with smiling faces having a good time.
It is good for businesses too – the counters that keep track of the number of people moving around the town (don't worry, no video, no facial recording!) show conclusively that the market increases footfall considerably. More people in the town centre mean that there is increased likelihood of people spending in our shops as well as on the market stalls and the positive impression created on visitors means people may return another time.
Many thanks must go to Kala for organising the whole affair. March 16 kicks off the 2024 season, and Kala says, "We are looking forward to welcoming you back in March. Come & find out what the artisans & makers have been creating for you. When you buy at Make it Marple you are not only supporting the traders you are helping create a fantastic atmosphere in the centre, boosting our local economy & creating a great sense of community. We are really lucky in Marple to have lots of amazing independent businesses, cafés and bars for you to enjoy. So why not bring your family & friends for a great day out."
Come and meet us there too at our fully updated stand!
